「椿の重箱」という作品では、葉、花、そしてつぼみの三つの状態がひとつの作品の中に同時に表現されています。椿の生命の流れを静かに感じ取ることができる二重箱です。

In this piece “Camellia Jubako”, the leaf, the flower, and the bud are all presented together in a single layered box. It gently captures the quiet passage of time within the life of a camellia.


“現在、生活と制作の拠点としている富山は、自然がとても豊かな土地です。家の近くを散歩するたびに、植物たちの生命力に心を動かされます。数日、あるいは一週間ほどで、辺り一面に生えていた草が別の草に入れ替わっていたり、つい先日咲いたばかりの花が、もう実を結んでいたりすることもあります。そんな日々の小さな変化に、たとえそれが一枚の葉であっても、私はよく心を癒され、励まされています。

一枚一枚の葉が異なるように、現在の技法で制作する作品もすべて一点ものです。実際の植物から型を取り、ガラスを鋳造することで、その瞬間の時間までも閉じ込めるような感覚で制作しています。植物の美しさ、そしてそのとき私が受け取った感動が、ガラスを通して誰かのもとに届いてくれたら――そう願っています。”

“I now live and work in Toyama, a place surrounded by rich nature. On walks near my home, I often find myself moved by the quiet strength of plants. Within just a few days—or a single week—the landscape shifts: grasses give way to new ones, flowers that bloomed only recently begin to bear fruit. Even the smallest change, a single leaf, has the power to heal and inspire me.

Like how each leaf is different, the works I create using my current technique are all one of a kind. I take molds from real plants and cast them in glass, trying to capture even a moment of time within the piece. I hope that through these glass works, the beauty of plants—and the emotion I felt in that moment—can be passed on to someone else.”
